I decided to built a website to have a place to showcase some of my work and give me a reason to built a new site using CSS for the layout. I have made every effort to make this site compatible both with layout (CSS) and color (sRGB) with all new browsers. I will try to update this site on a regular basis and add new material to the portfolio sections as time permits. Please feel free to email me with your comments and criticisms. I am currently employed at Hobby Publications in Morganville, NJ. At Hobby Publications I have worked in many aspects of publishing both in print and on the Internet as well as managing our servers, network, workstations and printers. I work as a graphic designer and web designer for two trade magazine and a trade show. In addition to my full time job, I do a lot of freelance work including product and still life photography for magazines and catalogs.
Before working at Hobby Publications, I worked with Barry Halkin Architectural Photography in Philadelphia, PA. I started with Barry as an intern and eventually became an assistant. While working with Barry, I assisted on interiors, exteriors and studio photo shoots. I helped setup equipment, color gels and lighting. I learned a great deal and draw from my experience with Barry everyday. The attention to detail that goes into architectural photography is amazing. My interest in photography has grown even more with the arrival of digital photography. I have not given up film completely, but digital photography has definitely made things a lot more fun and exciting. I have a small studio at my house, complete with studio lighting and small format (35mm SLR) digital camera. I still have my Sinar 4x5 view camera for clients who still require a transparency and personal work I have been putting off for much too long.
I have a great interest in all aspects of photography, design and computers. Over the years, I have learned to use a lot of different technologies, operating systems and applications. Some of them include: Mac OS 7 to Mac OS X 10.4, Mac OS X 10.3.9 Server, Windows 98 to XP, Windows 2000 Server, Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe Illustrator, Font Reserve, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office, VirtualPC, OptiCAL, EverSmart, Flash and MySql. At my current position I also troubleshoot these applications, operating systems and repair the computers.
I am continuously trying to keep up with technology news. Below is from my RSS feed at digg.com with the news stories I have been reading (digging).
